Quilt for a cause...

The Island Batik challenge for February is to create a donation quilt.

Scroll down for a chance to win some fabric this week!

I started designing with this fabric collection:

Garden Gems fabrics.

I love the brightness of each one of these colors.

I added some solid black Island batik to set them off.

Electric quilt is the perfect tool to draw up, plan and color the quilt design.

I pulled out the reds yellows and greens as well as a multi color for the center row.

Some easy cuts....

some simple piecing on my Janome M7....

Easy peasy quilt top!

Add in some pretty quilting with Hobbs Batting:

And a binding on my Juki...

And there is a finished quilt! (quilts in the Wild!)

Photos taken at the Cherry Point Beach near Ferndale WA.

Here is a few seconds of a sunny winter beach in the Pacific North West. The wind was blowing so we didn't get too many good beachy shots with the quilt, just a few!

I will be donating this quilt to a child advocacy foundation. I have donated to them previously, and this will be for when they have their next fundraiser.

I have always been able to donate quilts for other auctions and donations. Giving back to your community is very rewarding.

Click here for the Raffle!!! There is a chance to win one of these Precut fabrics from the Island Batik Mystery fabric line.

Disclosure: The products featured here were provided to me free of charge by Island Batik, and Hobbs Batting.
