Marvelous Mini

Here is my pretty 18 by 23" mini modern quilt.

This month the Island Batik Ambassadors were challenged to make a miniature quilt.

I grabbed my scrap bag and pulled some pretty colors and some low volume prints along with a neutral.

My goal is a modern mini! The small squares finish at 3/4".

I tried out a magnifying glass for my Janome M7. I think it will be great for another project.

I love my new mat by Prairie Spirit Alpaca.

It really makes pressing without distortion possible.

The blocks finish at 4 1/2"

I like adding a few blank squares.

I layered with Hobbs Heirloom batting. I brought to my Handi Quilter Capri. I love quilting my small quilts on my stationary machine. I stitched diagonal lines for simple and straightforward quilting . I use small quilts like this for table mats. I may hang it, but truly it will probably live on a table.

Thanks for stopping by! Next month: Diamond rectangles with Studio 180 Designs.

Disclosure: The products featured here were provided to me free of charge by Island Batik, Prairie Spirit Alpaca and Hobbs heirloom Batting.

I love it Megan!! How nice to have both a long arm and a stationary machine! This is fantastic and I love how you used your scraps for it!
